 After The Team’s fantastic weekend at Pembrey with our highest finish of the season coming 4th overall in the sprint race and a 3rd in class in the mini enduro round we were all looking forward to racing at Thruxton.

 We arrived at the circuit on the Friday and set up the car ready for the warm up session and qualifying on Saturday. This was the first time the team had raced at the circuit so we were excited to see what it had in store for us! 

 The Team woke up to a dry but cold Thruxton on Saturday and started prepping the car ready for our warm up session. Tim went out on track for the first time and over the fifteen minute session he was able to learn the circuit and came back to the paddock after the session being happy with both the car and the track.

 We were then ready to go out for qualifying.  Tim was holding a good position throughout the session and when he came into the pits mid session we were to qualify 10th on the grid and 6th in class. Tim went back out for the remainder of the session and we qualified 11th on the grid and 6th in class. 

 The Team made changes to the car including changing the rear anti roll bar back to the hard setting due to the car understeering, the rear wing was raised for better stability and the caster was moved on the front wheels for less resistance when steering. The rear bodywork was raised as we found that the tyres had started to rub on the underside of the bodywork, we also had to fix the alternator cable after it had come loose and the rear right tyre had to be replaced.

 On the Sunday we were scheduled to have 2 races the first being solely for the Duratec cars counting towards the championship and the second being a non-championship race where no points would be awarded.

Thruxton 3_1 We went out for the championship race 11th on the grid.  Tim gained a position putting us in 10th place however when he came past the start/finish line the team in the pit lane noticed damage to the front left side of the bodywork, however Tim remained out on track to finish the race where we finished 10th and 6th in class.

 Upon return to the paddock the team checked the car over and found that we had more issues which the team will be able to resolve upon return to the workshop. We now have over 2 months before our next and final round at Brands Hatch for the Formula Ford Festival, so if any of you would like to join us for this round, please get in contact as we would really like to see some of you there!
