Mr Sean Jenkins BA(Hons), MA, FRSA obtained his BA(Hons) in 3D Design from the University of Wales in 1988. The MA in Industrial Design was obtained at Central St Martins; the London Institute in 1990. Currently reading for a PhD at Swansea Metropolitan University entitled ‘Thermographic Metrics of Human-Product Interaction". Exploring the potential application of thermography in the evaluation of physiological and emotional interaction of users with new products.' The thesis is due for submission by April, 2009. Key research interests lie in the development of non-invasive techniques to provide objective measurement of a subject's emotional response to designed stimuli. Potential applications for such novel techniques include new product development, market research and design education. Mr Jenkins is currently Programme Director of the BA (Hons) Product Design programme at Swansea Mets School of Industrial Design. Mr Jenkins has commercial experience both as a freelance industrial designer and as part of the Institutes commercial services across a range of sectors from furniture to industrial and medical laser systems. Academic experience includes programme design, development and delivery across a range of subject areas at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Key areas of teaching expertise include design methodology, human factors, design and emotion, and computer aided design and visualisation, specifically Autodesk AliasStudio. He is currently external expert for course approval and review for the School of Engineering, Design & Technology at the University of Bradford. Selected Publications
