Senior Lecturer in Photography

John Paul graduated with BA (hons) in Fine Art at Gwent College in 1993 and has taught BA Fine Art at Cardiff School of Art before taking up his post as senior lecturer at Swansea. John Paul is enrolled on the MPhil research programme at Swansea.

He has exhibited nationally and internationally including the touring solo exhibitions: 'Hunks and Heroes' 1996, Castlefield Gallery Manchester,
'Dark Secrets..... Mortal Thoughts' 1997, Commissioned by Newport Museum,
'A Different Point of View' 1999, commissioned by CBAT, Cardiff ,and
'Bed Sheet Dreams' 2005 commissioned for The Room gallery, London.

He is a member of the Board of Governers for Ffotogallery Wales

Research interests investigate how photography is used as a tool to construct notions of gender by reaffirming binary conceptions of masculinity and femininity through bodily representation.
