The term Fine Art, with its legacy steeped in the Renaissance struggle to gain higher social status for the plastic arts, today refers to practices both material and conceptual. Researchers aim to integrate the two, producing work as a personal response to any given situation, or as an intervention in the wider socio-political context. In any event, the search is to balance those two criteria of quality: conceptual intrigue, and perceptual intrigue. Staff participating in this research group include: Peter Finnemore |
