Born and educated in South Wales, Owen obtained his BSc in Particle Physics and Cosmology at Swansea University. He carried out his Masters in Research at the Materials Engineering department at Swansea University, staying to obtain a PhD on the Combination of processes effecting fracture in ferritic steel. Owen is now a Senior Lecturer in the School of Automotive Engineering and is leading its research group in vehicle dynamics.

His current research interests are in motorcycle dynamics and simulation, integrated data acquisition and alternative fuels testing and simulation. His other interests include motorcycle racing, extreme sports, music, cosmology, photography and computing.
Current Research Interests: Motorcycle Dynamics, Motorcycle Control and Simulation, Data Acquisition, Thermodynamics and Alternative Fuels
