The Contemporary Textiles group engages in all aspects of textile design, development and production. Some researchers are concerned with conceptual and historical associations, others with design and application. Crucial to all is the understanding that textile, in all its guises, is central to our lives and lived experience and is very much the ‘stuff' of art and design, both fine and applied.
Researchers enjoy access to a wide range of digital processes, including laser cutting/engraving, fabric printing and embroidery, as well as access to the dye laboratory, needle puncher and the full facilities of the textile print studio.

Staff participating in this research group include:

Linda Nottingham
Stephanie Tuckwell
Ainsley Hillard
Claire Angove
Georgia McKie
Angela Maddock
