The Computer Networks Group PDF Print E-mail

TheComputer Networks group has recently completed the ASTEC Project which is a £611k TSB funded project to measure the movement of sea bed sediment using mobile underwater sensors that are scattered onto the sea bed. The system uses underwater electromagnetic communications technology which is world leading in this area. The project team is developing new protocols and algorithms where necessary to support the networking of sensors in salt water environments.

The group is now expanding its research into terrestrial sensor networks designed for environmental monitoring and is currently seeking research partners and research grants.

Staff participating in this research group includes:

Prof. Ian Wells
