Submission Guide

Articles should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document and sent electronically to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Submissions should include a brief abstract of the essay (250 words) and a short biography of the author(s) as seperate documents. All articles should be prepared according to the MHRA Style Guide

Articles should be 4,000-5,000 words in length, be written in the English language using a standard font type (Times New Roman) and 1.5 lines spacing used throughout, except for long quotes where single lines can be used. All pages should be numbered consecutively in the top right-hand corner.


Font Style

Times New Roman. Note that only regular and italic font styles (where required, e.g. book titles etc) should be used throughout the article.

Font Size
Essay title: font size 18 and centred, followed by author’s name and institutional affiliation in font size 12 (name of institution should be placed in brackets). 
Text (including subheadings): font size 12.

Line-spacing
Body Text: 1.5 lines.
Long quotations: single lines and indented by 1cm from the left margin.

 

Illustrative materials

Illustrations (such as photographs and paintings e.t.c.) and short videos may be submitted at the contributor’s discretion. However, all unacknowledged reproduction of third party intellectual property is strictly prohibited and contributors are responsible for obtaining requisite permissions.

Perfformio is not responsible for obtaining permission on behalf of contributors and will not bear any liability for copyright infringements as a result of material submitted by any of its contributors.

Note that restrictions may apply to the number or size of the photographs or videos submitted. Photographic materials should be formatted using the jpeg format while videos should be formatted using any of the following formats: MPEG (.mpg); AVI (.avi); QuickTime (.mov).
