Review Process

Please note that we may not be able to accept or put a submission through the review process where the author has not followed our style guide or complied with our submission guidelines.

Once the deadline for submissions has passed, articles are collated and each paper is then sent to our growing list of peer reviewers. Each entry will be reviewed by at least two readers with relative expertise in the subject addressed in the essay. This process is completely anonymous so a reviewer does not know the identity of the author whose paper s/he is reading, and authors do not find out who reviewed their work.

After reading the articles, the reviewers will then prepare a decision report for Perfformio based on one of the following recommendations:

• Accept without revision
• Accept subject to minor revisions
• Accept subject to substantial revisions
• Reject but encourage revisions as suggested and resubmission at a later date
• Reject

Selection process

Articles that will be published in Perfformio are selected based on the recommendation of the peer reviewers and the discretion of the editor. Decisions reached by the editor are final and will be communicated to contributors immediately after the selection meeting. 

Those authors whose papers are accepted subject to minor or substantial revisions will be asked to make the requested changes and re-submit by a given deadline. Note that these revisions must be made by the author before the article can be publication. Authors whose papers are published in Perfformio will retain the copyright of their works which they can choose to publish elsewhere, with little or no amendment, on the condition that Perfformio is duly acknowledged as place of first publication.
