Undergraduate Study 2012 PDF Print E-mail

There are many reasons why you should choose to study at Swansea Met in 2012.

There's the excellent nightlife, generous bursaries, great shopping, premier league football, friendly locals, low crime levels, stunning scenery, over fifty amazing beaches and excellent road and rail links.

But perhaps more importantly these days is the excellent reputation the University has for turning degrees into jobs.  In 2009, more than ninety per cent our undergraduate students were in employment or further training within six months of graduating.

Generations of students have studied at the Met and the University inherits a long tradition of educational excellence as its predecessor colleges have been serving the people of Swansea and the surrounding region for more than 150 years. Its School of Art was established in 1853, School of Teacher Education in 1872 and Technology College in 1897.

Despite being an institution that focuses on teaching, 60% of the University's research work is rated as being of ‘international significance', and in some cases ‘world leading' according to the most recent Research Assessment Exercise. Research strengths include art and design, engineering and education.
