PGCE Secondary Subjects - Physics with Science PDF Print E-mail

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

GCSEs or equivalent in Mathematics and English at Grade C or above, an A level pass in Physics or appropriate equivalent, plus a degree in Physics or any branch of Engineering.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This one year full-time programme will equip trainees to teach Physics within the 11-16 age range in a variety of schools and colleges (including Welsh medium).

The Physics/Science Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Teacher Training course offers a splendid professional introduction into a teaching career.

You will be joining a course which has:

  • A well established partnership with schools in the South West area.

  • Lots of professional support available both in college and school.

Tuition Fees 2012/2013

PGCE Programmes - £9,000

Students will not have to pay up-front for their tuition. Tuition fees will be paid for by a loan which students will only start to repay once they have left their course and are earning over £21,000 a year.

Eligible Welsh and non-UK EU domiciled students will be entitled to receive a fee grant to cover fees above £3,465. This grant is non-means-tested and does not have to be repaid.

Incentive grants available in Wales for new eligible students on specified postgraduate (PGCE) ITT courses leading to QTS starting in the 2012/13 academic year are as follows:

Eligible students with either a 1st or 2:1 honours degree qualification on physics postgraduate ITT courses starting in the 2012/13 academic year would receive the £15,000 incentive grant.
