Entry QualificationsGCSEs or equivalent in Mathematics and English at Grade C or above, an A-Level or equivalent in Mathamatics plus a degree in Mathematics or a subject with significant mathematical content, e.g.:
Course DescriptionThis one year full-time programme will equip trainees to teach Maths within the 11-19 age range in a variety of schools and colleges (including Welsh medium if requested). Mathematics Education at Swansea is a centre of excellence and our course has been judged to be Grade 1 in recent inspections. Teaching Mathematics is challenging, rewarding, and fun with excellent job prospects and this course trains you to the highest standards. There are two options available: 1. Mathematics for age range 11 to 19 years. 2. Mathematics for age range 11 to 16 years with Information Technology for 11 to 14 years. Special Attractions
Tuition Fees 2012/2013PGCE Programmes - £9,000 Students will not have to pay up-front for their tuition. Tuition fees will be paid for by a loan which students will only start to repay once they have left their course and are earning over £21,000 a year. Eligible Welsh and non-UK EU domiciled students will be entitled to receive a fee grant to cover fees above £3,465. These incentives will be variable depending on degree qualification. Eligible postgraduate students with a first class degree will recieve the highest funding levels, with progressively lower amounts for those with a 2:1 or 2:2
