About us The Faculty of Business and Management is home to a wide range of industry-led, professionally focused courses in Business and Management subjects. We offer undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses including the University's MBA programme; and we have specialist courses in sectors particularly relevant to the local economy such as Tourism, Events, Sport and the Public Services. We are: Student centred Teaching and learning are the most important part of what we do as a faculty; we are continuously striving to improve the student experience. Friendly and welcoming We pride ourselves on getting to know our students as individuals and supporting them in their studies in an open, friendly environment. We welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds including those without formal qualifications, and consider each applicant on an individual basis. Industry linked All our courses are developed in partnership with employers, so we can ensure our graduates have the skills they need when they enter the workplace. We also have strong links with professional bodies such as ACCA, CIMA, CIM, CMI and CIPD, and several of our programmes carry accreditations from these organisations. Entrepreneurial We believe in preparing our students for all the opportunities available to them on graduation - including running their own business. We aim to foster an enterprise culture within the faculty and entrepreneurship education is firmly embedded in our courses. International We have strong links with academic institutions in countries including Finland, Ireland and China, and many of our programmes offer an international perspective. Students on our sandwich programmes undertake work placements in a range of countries including the United States, Greece and Spain, and each year we welcome international students from around the world who contribute to the diverse, multicultural environment within the faculty. |
