Swansea has a long history in the field of stained glass. The course founder, Howard Martin was invited in 1935 to run an evening class at what was then Swansea Art College after he and his cousin Hubert Thomas had successfully set up the firm of Martin & Thomas two years earlier. After the war the course developed into the Architectural Stained Glass Department and has prospered ever since.
The university has gained a long-standing reputation as a centre of excellence in this subject, not only in the UK but also around the world.
Our highly dedicated and experienced academic team will provide the guidance needed for students to develop their own creativity and abilities as designer makers.
