Programme Structure

Both BSc and BA applicants are introduced to the same practices within their introductory year, establishing key skills that enable all to decide whether they would like to continue with a science or art degree. In Year 2, BSc students specialise in the advanced areas of computer graphics and design using procedural methods of animation to develop dynamic simulations, innovative solutions and adapt the existing parameters of the software.

The final year culminates in the production of a major piece of animation, as individuals develop new and exciting simulated animations and designs from initial conception through to the final digital product.

Employment Opportunities

Swansea Animation Days (SAND) is now an integral part of the programme calendar. Key animators and international speakers from animation leaders such as Aardman, The Framestore and Dreamworks come to Swansea to share their insider knowledge. This is an excellent networking opportunity for graduates from the programme who are ideally suited for employment as animation designer/programmers in the film industry, in broadcast TV, in computer games, as part of a development team in a production house, etc.
