Programme Design

The course provides a strong academic and practical basis for students seeking a career as an incorporated Civil Engineer in the construction industry. It provides a careful balance between academic studies and practical training, so that a thorough understanding of the major subject areas is gained. A particular feature of the course is the period of industrial placement which is selected to reflect your career preference.

The course satisfies the educational requirements for entry into the Institution of Civil Engineers as an engineering technician member. Satisfactory completion of a two or three year period of Initial Professional Development and a professional review report enables diplomates to use the designation TMICE.
