UCAS Course Code: F901 Duration: 3 Years Admissions Tutor: Dr Rhian Jenkins Programme DesignThis course has been designed to provide you with the opportunity to study environmental issues, their causes and possible solutions. They will equip you with the knowledge and skills essential to the assessment of the environmental impact of human actions and enable you to make judgements from ethical, scientific, legal, economic, social and political perspectives. They aim to produce graduates who will meet the needs of a society which is becoming more environmentally conscious and who will positively contribute to the development of a sustainable future. Programme StructureThe BSc course includes specialist modules to reflect the nature of the programme. In addition, optional modules enable you to study areas of personal interest. In Year One, the modules are common whilst in Years Two and Three the modules become progressively more specialised. These could include: environmental planning, pollution control, waste management, nature conservation, environmental conservation and management. Employment may be in the public sector with the environmental agencies, Local Authorities or in the private sector with consultancies, major commercial concerns, environmental pressure groups or in all areas of education. Entry RequirementsApplicants will normally be expected to have two subjects at A level (12 units) or equivalent Advanced Subsidiary level, supported by passes in five subjects at GCSE Grade A, B or C, which will normally include Mathematics and English, or BTEC National Certificate or Diploma, or Vocational A level (12 units), or Successful completion of an appropriate Access Course.
