UCAS Course Code: 54GG Duration: 2 Years Admissions Tutor: Dr Glenn Jenkins Programme DesignThis course is relevant to those wishing to enter commerce or industry in the Computing and Information Technology field. It will provide you with a sound knowledge of computer technology and concepts. You will develop the skills required to analyse the IT needs of a business and to develop the information systems necessary to support its goals. Students who achieve at least two Merits in Year two will be eligible to proceed onto Year two of the Schoolís Computing and Information Technology honours degree programme. Programme StructureThe course is delivered over two years through taught units with a high level of practical work. Placement opportunities may arise for interested students. Employment OpportunitiesSuccessful students from the course will hold a nationally recognised qualification appropriate for jobs within the identified skills shortage areas of Information Technology. Students will be equipped to take up a range of positions in the areas of Analysis, Programming, IT support, Network Administration, Database Development and Web Programming.
