UCAS Course Code: H611 Duration: 3 Years Admissions Tutor: Dr Glenn Jenkins Programme DesignThe underlying network infrastructure is critical to many organisations today and this course aims to produce graduates who will have proficient knowledge of computer technology, both hardware and software, to develop and maintain networking solutions to ensure businesses continue to operate at the forefront of their markets. Recent graduates have gained employment in a wide range of computing disciplines, including: programming, network managers and network engineers. Others have progressed onto postgraduate study. In the first year, you will study a broad range of subjects common to all courses within the Computing Portfolio. These provide the underpinning required for later years and allow flexibility to transfer across pathways in your first year of study. During your second year, you will study modules that provide a greater depth for your chosen programme. In the final year, you will undertake a major project which provides a focus for your studies. The Faculty is a CISCO regional academy and you would be expected to gain CISCO certified status during your course. Other modules studied during the course will provide accreditation for Microsoft courses and can lead to exams to gain Microsoft certification towards MCSE status.
