UCAS Course Code: G500 Duration: 3 years full-time Admissions Tutor: Dr Glenn Jenkins (full-time) Programme DesignThis course aims to produce graduates who will have knowledge of computer technology, both hardware and software, in order to meet the needs of industry. They should be able to analyse the needs of a business and develop the strategic use of information systems to support it meeting its goals. Graduates from this course have gained employment in a wide range of computing disciplines, including: programming, business systems analysis, software testing, IS consultancy and management. Others have progressed onto postgraduate study. In the first year, you will study a broad range of subjects common to all courses within the Computing Portfolio. These provide the underpinning required for later years and allow flexibility to transfer across pathways in your first year of study. During your second year, you will study modules that provide a greater depth for your chosen programme. In the final year, you will undertake a major project which provides a focus for your studies. Some of the modules studied during the programme may provide accreditation for CISCO and Microsoft courses and can lead to exams to gain CISCO and Microsoft certification. Advanced Web Development (O) Part-Time Programme StructurePart-time students typically study between 2-4 modules per year (dependant on credit values). The modules are the same as the full-time programme. Entry Requirements200 UCAS tariff points to include two C grades at A-Level/AVCE; or Please note that subjects at Advanced Level should/may include Maths, ICT, Physics or similar. Other qualifications deemed to be equivalent by the Academic Board will also be considered. |
