UCAS Course Code: G422 Duration: 3 Years Admissions Tutor: Dr Glenn Jenkins Programme DesignTodayís world is one in which the internet plays a major role for many people and businesses. This course aims to produce graduates who will have the knowledge of computer technology, both hardware and software, required to develop internet solutions for a business. They should be able to analyse the needs of a business and design and develop web-based systems needed to transport the business onto the global stage through the internet. Graduates from this course have gained employment in the field of web design, web development or similar computing disciplines. Others have progressed onto postgraduate study. In the first year, you will study a broad range of subjects common to all courses within the Computing Portfolio. These provide the underpinning required for later years and allow flexibility to transfer across pathways in your first year of study. During your second year, you will study modules that provide a greater depth for your chosen programme. In the final year, you will undertake a major project, which provides a focus for your studies. Some of the modules studied during the programme will provide accreditation for Microsoft courses and can lead to exams to gain Microsoft certification.
