In 1991, the School became Wales' CISCO Regional Networking Academy, where students can gain high level experience in the design and implementation of very advanced computer networks. There is also an opportunity for Computer Networks students to study the internationally recognised CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualification.

The School is also a Microsoft IT Academy, delivering technical training on Microsoft technology to help students prepare for Microsoft Certified Professional exams. The Microsoft Official Curriculum provides ready-to-use course material and hands-on lab exercises based on a consistent training model for Microsoft technology.

Since 2000, the School has been a member of the Oracle Academic Initiative (OAI). The OAI links up with University's across the world to develop qualified knowledge workers for today's high-tech market, to address the world-wide IT labour shortage and to expand the digital economy.
