Part-Time Study

Are you thinking about career progression, changing jobs or looking to follow your passion for a particular subject.  Whatever your reason, studying a part-time course can unlock your potential and with it a huge sense of personal and individual achievement. Why not visit one of our part-time information evenings and find out more (see below).

The University offers higher degrees by research, a wide range of taught programmes and a variety of popular professional qualifications.  All have been designed with the world of work in mind.  If you would like to study towards an undergraduate degree or HND/C but can't commit to studying on a full-time basis, studying a part-time course might be the key to your future success. For a list of courses, please see the link opposite.

You can study around your current commitments, at your own pace, gradually gaining credit, which will count towards your final qualification.  Studying for an undergraduate qualification can take between two and six years to complete depending on how much time you have available to commit towards your studies.

Excellent Job and Career Prospects

According to the most recently published figures (2009/10) by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), 98.1% of our part-time students who gained an undergraduate degree with us were in work or training within six months of graduating against a government target of 94.4%.

Study this year and avoid a hike in fees in 2013/14

The Welsh Government is likely to introduce changes to the way part-time courses are funded in 2013/14. These new fee arrangements might have serious implications on the level of fees charged and you might well consider bringing forward any plans you have for part-time study to this year thus avoiding any hike in fees in 2013/14.

Top for Student Satisfaction

The part-time student experience at Swansea Met is amongst the best in Wales with student satisfaction levels higher than at more than half of all Welsh universities according to the latest National Student Survey. Part-time student satisfaction at Swansea Met in 2011 stood at 88% which is significantly greater than its official benchmark target of 83%.
