Chloe feels that her time here has been life changing, she says "since coming to Swansea I have learnt to be independent. I came all the way from China to a strange country where the language is not my first language. Initially it was difficult to adjust and I did feel lonely. However, through my continuous efforts I am now able to take care of myself and manage my studies. In addition I have made a lot of friends". In comparison to Wuhan, Chloe has found Swansea quite a different environment in which to study "Swansea is a small city. It is a place of learning which is good for meditation, where you can slow down and not encounter congested traffic, the air is fresh and makes it easy to enjoy learning". She has even got used to the weather! "Many people said they do not like the weather in Swansea, but I still like it here, whether it's sunny, snowy or windy!". The provision of English Language support for international students has been invaluable for Chloe. "The Student Services Department has a specific programme to provide English lessons and study skill sessions, students can always get the appropriate help".
