Programme Design

This full-time undergraduate degree is designed to prepare you for a career in accountancy, providing you with the key professional skills required to make an immediate and effective contribution to an organisation upon taking up employment.  You will learn about the core areas of financial, cost and management accounting; financial management; taxation and auditing; applying your knowledge to both the public and private sectors.  This extremely popular programme has been developed in close consultation with the professional chartered accountancy bodies ACA, ACCA, CIMA and CIPFA, to enable students to gain considerable exemptions from future professional examinations.  You will also be taught how to use the key, industry standard accounting software packages, helping make you an attractive prospect for potential employers.

Programme Structure

In the first year of your programme you study a broad programme covering the key business functions, then in your second and final years your programme becomes more specialised and focuses on building an in-depth knowledge of accounting theory and practice.
