Programme Design

This full-time degree programme is designed to prepare students for leadership and management roles within a range of organisations, or for leading their own organisation.  You will study all aspects of business from a leadership perspective and develop skills and knowledge in areas such as decision making, management development, entrepreneurship, performance management and financial leadership. 

Programme Structure

  Your first year consists of a general foundation in the key functional areas of business, ensuring that you have a thorough understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ of how an organisation works.  As you move into your second and final years you develop your understanding of the roles of leaders and managers in organisations and build the knowledge and skills you need to become effective in developing strategy and leading people.

All modules carry 20 credits, apart from the dissertation which is worth 40 credits.

Employment Opportunities

This programme is designed to enable students to progress quickly into management and leadership roles within organisations of a range of sizes and types, or to set up and lead their own organisations.  You will be well prepared to take on management responsibilities across a broad range of generalist business roles or to specialise further in one of the functional areas.

Entry Requirements

160 UCAS points to include 120 points from A-Levels or equivalent .

 

Other equivalent qualifications are accepted and the admissions panel will consider each application on an individual basis.  Please note also that our offers are not based solely on your academic achievements; we take into account your full range of skills, experience and attainments when considering your application.

Advanced Entry

Entry to Year 2 or 3 is encouraged from HND/HNC students. There is a strong tradition of successful transfer to the degree for such students.
