Programme Design

The aim of the Foundation Year is to provide motivated students, who do not have suitable formal qualifications, with the opportunity of studying for a BEng degree or HND. It therefore emphasises science and mathematics along with
other subjects which give a well rounded introduction to engineering. Courses with foundation years are listed opposite.
Successful completion of the foundation year guarantees continuation onto the first year of the degree scheme.
At the end of the foundation year you may choose to study an alternative subject from the list to the one that you originally joined. Those who do not fully complete the foundation year may have an opportunity to follow the appropriate HND course.
