UCAS Course Code: H333 Admissions Tutor: Andrew Gibson Programme DesignThe Motorsport Engineering Programme will develop your skills and knowledge in technical and innovative applications, within the Motorsport Engineering Industry. The successful utilisation of the latest technology will require a broad understanding of issues associated with today's competitive industry. You will develop engineering skills at a high level of competence which could be transferred to a wide range of other industries. On completion of the programme at Honours Level you will have developed an understanding of a complex body of knowledge. Through this, you will have developed analytical techniques and problem-solving skills that can be applied in many types of employment and be able to evaluate evidence, arguments and assumptions, to reach sound judgments, and to communicate effectively. As an Honours graduate you will have the qualities needed for employment in situations requiring the exercise of personal responsibility, and decision-making in complex and unpredictable circumstances. Programme StructureYear 1• Applications in Engineering Year 2• Analytical Methods Year 3• Computer Aided Design Entry RequirmentsThe normal entry requirement at Level 4 of the BSc (Hons) Motorsport Engineering is 200 points from numerate or technical subjects. These can come from A-Levels, National Diplomas, Certificates, National Awards or equivalent, including NVQ Level 3 and the new 14-19 Diploma and Access courses and the Welsh Baccalaureate. Providing that an applicant can achieve the point's required, 2 A-Levels would be sufficient. GCSE Maths at grade C or above is required from all applicants. Entry to this degree programme at Level 6 is allowed for candidates with suitable entry qualifications such as a HND or Foundation degree, with a module outcome profile equivalent to levels 4 and 5 of this BSc. Other Skills ConsideredA student without suitable qualifications may, exceptionally, be admitted if the Programme Management Committee feels that he/she has a reasonable chance of completing the programme successfully. This particularly applies to those with relevant previous experience, possessing a willingness and ability to meet the challenges of the programme. |
