The Creative Industries Research and Innovation Centre (CIRIC) was established in 2005 and is a knowledge transfer centre for projects that support the creative industries in Wales. Projects due to commence in Autumn 2009 include Moving Image Wales, which will offer support to the digital media industry, the Textiles Technologies Project, which will offer support to the textiles and apparel industries, Interreg, which will offer support to business through creative intervention and SATnet, which will provide a link between artists and businesses in the science and technology sectors, with the aim of developing new products and processes. In addition, IPCRES will be based in CIRIC and will be developing and disseminating research about durational and event based practices, both material and non-material.
Alongside the numerous projects operating within CIRIC, there is also a Design Bureau, with water jet cutting, laser cutting and fabric printing services.
Details about all the current CIRIC projects and the bureau service are available under the ‘Current Projects' tab. Information about previous CIRIC projects can be found under the 'CIRIC 2005-2008' tab, with the latest news, available under the ‘News' tab.
